About This Calculator

This calculator helps students track their academic progress by calculating Semester Performance Index (SPI) and Cumulative Performance Index (CPI).

The calculation is based on the credit system commonly used in universities across India, where:

  • SPI (Semester Performance Index): Weighted average of grade points earned in a single semester.
  • CPI (Cumulative Performance Index): Weighted average of grade points earned across all semesters.

Help & FAQ

How do I calculate my SPI?

SPI is calculated using the formula: (Sum of Grade Points × Credits) / Total Credits for that semester.

For example, if you scored AA (10 points) in a 4-credit course and BB (8 points) in a 3-credit course, your SPI would be: (10×4 + 8×3) / (4+3) = 9.14

How does CPI differ from SPI?

CPI considers your performance across all semesters, while SPI only looks at one semester.

CPI formula: (Sum of SPIs × Credits for each semester) / Total Credits across all semesters.
