Calculate your Semester Performance Index (SPI) and Cumulative Performance Index (CPI)
Include your current semester in the total
This calculator helps students track their academic progress by calculating Semester Performance Index (SPI) and Cumulative Performance Index (CPI).
The calculation is based on the credit system commonly used in universities across India, where:
| Grade | Points | Grade | Points |
|---|---|---|---|
| AA | 10 | CC | 6 |
| AB | 9 | CD | 5 |
| BB | 8 | DD | 4 |
| BC | 7 | FF | 0 |
SPI is calculated using the formula: (Sum of Grade Points × Credits) / Total Credits for that semester.
For example, if you scored AA (10 points) in a 4-credit course and BB (8 points) in a 3-credit course, your SPI would be: (10×4 + 8×3) / (4+3) = 9.14
CPI considers your performance across all semesters, while SPI only looks at one semester.
CPI formula: (Sum of SPIs × Credits for each semester) / Total Credits across all semesters.
